What do you gain?

START WITH YOUR NEED

Which layer helps my business?

  1. Queue incoming email during outagesChoose Backup MX for secondary-MX outage queuing.
  2. Inspect incoming messagesChoose Email Protection as the primary gateway.
  3. Add another outgoing routeAdd SMTP Relay to either active base package.

See the difference in everyday situations

Examples below are illustrative scenarios, not customer case studies or detection guarantees.

Backup MX · All packages

Your mail server is temporarily offline

  1. The situationYour receiving server cannot be reached.
  2. How SecuraWall helpsEligible incoming mail waits in a temporary queue.
  3. What your team gainsDelivery retries after recovery.
Example details, scope and limits

Your office internet connection fails while a supplier sends an order confirmation.

Eligible mail reaching SecuraWall is queued within your service limits and retried when your destination is available.

You gain time to restore your server while accepted messages wait for delivery.

This is temporary queuing, not outage webmail or a permanent archive. Other sending servers and DNS configuration affect the route.

Email Protection · Package 2

An unexpected invoice arrives

  1. The situationA ZIP or Office attachment arrives.
  2. How SecuraWall helpsEnabled policies inspect supported content.
  3. What your team gainsIT can review eligible held mail.
Example details, scope and limits

An email asks an employee to open a ZIP attachment or an Office document.

When enabled, malware, file-type, attachment and Office checks inspect supported content within their processing limits. Policy can hold a message for IT review.

Your IT team can review a held message and its recorded signals before an authorized release.

Static heuristics do not prove malware. Encrypted, unsupported or oversized content may remain incomplete; configured actions apply.

Email Protection · Package 2

A payment request impersonates a colleague

  1. The situationFinance receives a bank-change request.
  2. How SecuraWall helpsConfigured BEC signals contribute to policy decisions.
  3. What your team gainsReview the signals; confirm payment changes through a trusted separate channel.
Example details, scope and limits

A sender uses a domain similar to yours and pressures your finance team to change bank details.

Enabled BEC controls combine supported identity, Reply-To, lookalike and payment-language signals. Protected names must be configured to match those identities.

Your IT team can review the impersonation signals the service detects. Verify payment changes through a separate trusted channel.

BEC checks can miss attacks or flag legitimate messages. They do not verify bank-account ownership.

Email Protection · Package 2

An employee clicks a link later

  1. The situationAn employee clicks a wrapped link.
  2. How SecuraWall helpsEnabled checks re-inspect supported destinations.
  3. What your team gainsA fresh decision point at click time.
Example details, scope and limits

A message was delivered yesterday; today an employee follows a wrapped link.

Enabled Click-time Link Protection rechecks current authorization, configured blocks and supported destinations. Configured Google Web Risk Lookup adds URL reputation; Continue runs a fresh inspection.

Your team gets an additional risk check when someone opens a supported protected link.

A URL that is not listed may still be unsafe. Full checked URLs go to Google when enabled. JavaScript, later browser changes and unwrapped links remain outside this check.

SMTP Relay · Optional add-on

A sending IP has delivery problems

  1. The situationYour sending IP has delivery problems.
  2. How SecuraWall helpsApproved relay provides another outgoing route.
  3. What your team gainsKeep the same mailboxes and incoming route.
Example details, scope and limits

An existing customer mail server needs an alternative outbound SMTP route.

Use authorized domain/device credentials and supported SMTP submission settings, with verified SPF and optional domain DKIM signing.

Keep your Package 1 or 2 receiving service and use approved relay without changing existing mailboxes or incoming MX records.

Sending is subject to approval, service limits and recipient policies. Destination acceptance does not guarantee inbox placement.

Email Protection · Package 2

IT needs to explain what happened

  1. The situationA user reports missing email.
  2. How SecuraWall helpsReview recorded scan, queue and SMTP outcomes.
  3. What your team gainsUse the available records and follow your organization’s authorized review process.
Example details, scope and limits

A user says an email is missing or asks for a quarantined message.

Review authorized quarantine requests and delivery details, including the Queue ID, recorded scan decisions and available destination responses.

Replace guesswork with the available recorded evidence and a controlled review workflow.

A gateway scan, release to queue, destination SMTP acceptance and mailbox receipt are different events. Missing results never mean a check passed.

Follow the evidence, step by step

  1. Gateway acceptanceThe gateway accepted the transaction.
  2. Recorded decisionReview the recorded result of the applicable security check.
  3. Destination acceptanceThe next SMTP server accepted delivery.
  4. Mailbox receiptConfirm final receipt separately with the recipient.

Missing results never mean that a check passed. Remote SMTP acceptance does not guarantee inbox placement.

Keep your mail platform. Choose the layer you need.

Protection depends on your active package and add-on, configured mail routes and enabled controls. No product guarantees detection of every threat or delivery to every inbox.
